San Diego, CA–It was a productive week for both current and former Aztecs across professional sports.

While the Aztec men’s basketball team was busy winning the Mountain West Tournament and clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) played in three games for the Los Angeles Clippers. Leonard averaged 24.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.0 steals per game for the Clippers, who are currently the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.  Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) logged five minutes for the Charlotte Hornets in their Saturday’s win over Toronto, totaling one rebound, one assist, and a block. The Hornets are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. He totaled a rebound, an assist, and a block. Malachi Flynn (2020) remains out for Toronto due to COVID-19 protocols. 

On the PGA Tour, Scott Piercy (1999-01) tied for 69th at THE PLAYERS Championship at 5-over-par, while Xander Schauffele (2013-15) did not make the cut. J.J. Spaun (2009-12) will compete in The Honda Classic next weekend in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
