San Diego, CA–The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship season, part of the SuperMotocross World Championship Series, returns to San Diego on January 18, 2025, Feld Motor Sports, Incorporated announced.
The world’s most talented two-wheel racers will converge at Snapdragon Stadium. The indoor and outdoor seasons of the SuperMotocross World Championship series consist of 17 Supercross races and 11 Pro Motocross races, respectively, providing 28 rounds of regular season competition building towards the 2025 SuperMotocross Playoffs and World Championship Final.
The 17-race Supercross schedule will visit 16 different cities, spread across 13 states, from California and Arizona to Alabama and Pennsylvania, with the annual visit to “America’s Finest City” signifying the second race on the championship calendar. It will mark the first of two SuperMotocross World Championship Series races in San Diego County, with the race at Snapdragon Stadium preceding the annual kickoff of the summer Pro Motocross Championship from Pala’s Fox Raceway over Memorial Day weekend.
A diverse international contingent of the sport’s biggest stars will line up to open the new year and new season in January, as the 450SX Class once again promises to deliver one of the deepest and most decorated fields in the 50-year history of the sport. Five past champions will vie for the coveted Supercross crown, led by phenom and reigning title holder Jett Lawrence (Australia) in addition to Jason Anderson (USA), Cooper Webb (USA), Eli Tomac (USA), and Chase Sexton (USA). Also chasing their first championship will be a formidable contingent of contenders like defending San Diego Supercross winner Aaron Plessinger (USA), Justin Cooper (USA), Dylan Ferrandis (France), Hunter Lawrence (Australia), Ken Roczen (Germany), and Malcolm Stewart (USA), each of whom are former race winners or podium finishers. Not to be outdone, reigning back-to-back FIM Motocross World Champion Jorge Prado (Spain) will make a highly anticipated move overseas to chase his dream of success in the United States.
Teams will decide later in the year which athletes will be competing in each respective 250SX Class Regional Championship, but fans can expect some epic battles amongst this exciting mix of young, up-and-coming talent and veteran experience, who always provide unpredictable competition. The 2025 season will feature the return of defending regional champions Tom Vialle of France (Eastern Regional Champion) and RJ Hampshire of the United States (Western Regional Champion). Reigning back-to-back SuperMotocross World Champion Haiden Deegan is still seeking his first Supercross championship and will be in hot pursuit of a regional title while rising stars Julien Beaumer (USA), Casey Cochran (USA), and Chance Hymas (USA) will be joined by former winners Max Anstie (Great Britain), Levi Kitchen (USA), Cameron McAdoo (USA), and Jo Shimoda (Japan), all of whom will be in the conversation for wins and championships on either coast.
The Western Regional 250SX Class Championship will be contested at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on January 11 and 25, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 1, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on February 22, Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington on March 29, and at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado on May 3.
The expansive paddock footprint of the Monster Energy Supercross FanFest features, first and foremost, unprecedented access to the sport’s biggest stars with an up-close and intimate view of the race bikes and team rigs, and multiple opportunities to engage with the athletes. As the name implies, FanFest is a festival for the fans and has become a major part of the Supercross experience where fans can jump back and forth between the paddock and the stadium to also watch practice and qualifying, before the “Night Show.”
