SACRAMENTO–The Bernie Sanders campaign has opened its 16th office in California January 17 in Sacramento, building on the strong grassroots network that is operating across the Golden State.
The office opening comes on the heels of a new poll that shows Sen. Sanders leading the race in the California primary, with 24% of the vote.
California State Assemblymember Ash Kalra, and Desiree Bates Rojas, President of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, Sacramento AFL-CIO and UNITE HERE attended the opening.
“This is what the strongest ground game in the Golden State looks like. We’re building the largest grassroots movement of working class Californians our state has ever seen, and our volunteers are setting a record pace,” said Rafael Návar, Bernie 2020 California State Director. “Last weekend, our volunteers knocked on nearly 61,000 doors. With these new offices, we’re expanding our reach across California and giving our supporters the tools they need to bring new folks into the political process and win the March primary.”
The 16 offices are open in Coachella, East Los Angeles, Escondido, Fresno, Oxnard, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, the San Fernando Valley, South Central Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Ana, Victorville, and Visalia.
