Menlo Park, CA–A tree trimmer died of his injuries after he fell into a wood chipper in Menlo Park on Tuesday, authorities said.
Menlo Park Police officers responded at around 12:53 p.m. to the 900 block of Peggy Lane in Menlo Park of a report of a tree trimmer who fell into a chipper. When police units arrived on the scene, the man was found deceased from injuries sustained from the incident.
Menlo Park Fire Protection District and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office also arrived at the scene.
Cal/OSHA Division of Occupational Safety and Health will be investigating the death.
The identity of the worker has not been released. The identification of the worker is the jurisdiction of the coroner’s office pending notification of next of kin.
