SAN DIEGO–Sheriff’s deputies conducted a warrant sweep Friday that resulted in multiple arrests in the San Diego area.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Court Services Bureau-Field Division targeted individuals with outstanding warrants regardless of the charge or bail amount.
A total of 36 adults were arrested clearing 40 misdemeanor warrants, three felony warrants, and one infraction warrant. Also one person was cited and released and another was arrested for a probation violation.
Timothy Sinclair, 25, of San Diego was contacted for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant when he ran from deputies. He was apprehended a short time later. Sinclair was booked into San Diego Central Jail on the new charges of resisting arrest, and violation of restraining order.
The warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise fail to comply with a court order.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department will continue its efforts in the apprehension of wanted persons. Anyone with outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at any one of the Sheriff’s court facilities.
