VALLEY CENTER–Authorities arrested three people during a search warrant at an illegal marijuana dispensary in Valley Center on Tuesday, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department said.

At about 10 a.m., the Valley Center Crime Suppression Team, Valley Center Area detectives and deputies with the San Marcos Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Team served a search warrant at the Green Apple Marijuana Collective, located in the 2700 block of Valley Center Road.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department received complaints from residents about the business which was operating without a business license in violation of San Diego County Ordinance 6976.

During the operation, deputies seized a large amount of marijuana, marijuana edibles, marijuana paraphernalia, currency, as well as items used in the selling of marijuana. Three employees were arrested for the sales of marijuana.

County departments are addressing illegal marijuana dispensaries in Valley Center and other unincorporated areas of San Diego county by enforcing building code requirements involving illegal or improper occupancy in conjunction with the administrative abatement process.

The county has begun serving illegal dispensaries with 10-day notices, ordering property owners to remove tenants involved in the illegal sales of marijuana. If the tenant is not removed and enforcement action is taken, the county will continue abatement proceedings and secure the property to ensure the building remains safe. Any person found inside the property after the County secures the building is subject to arrest.

The county anticipates continued enforcement and securing of structures for businesses operating without a valid permit
