Escondido, CA–A male juvenile allegedly involved in a street brawl with a group of males was fatally stabbed in Escondido Monday evening, the Escondido Police Department said.
The Escondido Police dispatch received a 911 call reporting the violent altercation in the 2700 block of Wanek Road at 7:54 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the young victim suffering from a severe stab wound. Escondido Fire paramedics transported him to Palomar Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
According to investigators, witnesses at the scene recounted a chaotic scene, describing a group of males engaged in a fight in the middle of the street. During the altercation, the victim attempted to flee but collapsed further down the road. By the time law enforcement arrived, all other individuals involved in the confrontation had fled the scene, leaving no suspects in custody.
