SPRING VALLEY–A man fatally shot during a physical confrontation with a group of males near a grocery store in Spring Valley has been identified.

The victim has been identified as twenty-five-year-old Aurice Turk, of Spring Valley. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said the cause of death has been ruled a gunshot wound and the manner of death, a homicide.

Thursday night, just before 9 p.m. on January 4, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call of a fight near the Albertson’s at 9831 Campo Road in Spring Valley.

The caller stated that multiple males were fighting at the location and a possible gunshot was heard. When deputies arrived, they located a male victim with a traumatic injury. The man was treated and rushed to a local hospital by the San Miguel Fire Department, but did not survive.

Multiple people were seen running from the area at the time of the shooting. Detectives would like to speak with those individuals and anyone who has information about what happened that night.
