Seven arrested in Lemon Grove retail theft operation

By Gina Yarbrough

Lemon Grove, CA–Lemon Grove Sheriff’s deputies conducted a retail theft enforcement operation on Wednesday, resulting in seven arrests across multiple businesses, authorities said.

The eight-hour operation was carried out by the Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving (COPPS) team and focused on addressing ongoing retail theft issues throughout the city. Deputies made six misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest, averaging nearly one arrest per hour.

Retail theft continues to be a significant challenge in Lemon Grove, impacting local businesses and the broader community. The operation was intended to deter theft and reinforce law enforcement’s presence in commercial areas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation involved close coordination among COPPS deputies, patrol deputies, detectives and participating businesses.

Deputies said similar proactive efforts will continue as part of ongoing crime prevention strategies in Lemon Grove.
