Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD–A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Thursday in Carlsbad, the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station’s Transit Enforcement Unit reports.

Deputies responded to a report of the 7:15 p.m. incident just north of the Carlsbad Village Station platform. 

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

Deputies are investigating the incident and the manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
