Pedestrian, Dog Injured In Hit And Run Collision

IMPERIAL BEACH–Imperial Beach Sheriff’s deputies are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit a pedestrian and a dog Wednesday and failed to stop at the scene, authorities say.

The hit and run collision occurred just after 7:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Elder Avenue. The pedestrian sustained head injuries and possibly other fractures. The pedestrian was transported to area hospital for medical treatment. The Humane Society took the injured dog for treatment.

The Imperial Beach Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
