OCEANSIDE—A male pedestrian struck on Friday by a vehicle in Oceanside died from his injuries, Oceanside police said on Monday.
Officers found the victim, Victor Macias, lying against the south curb of Buena Street partially under a parked vehicle that had also been struck. The unidentified driver fled the scene prior to officers arriving.
The vehicle is described as a white pickup truck with heavy front end damage. The victim,, was taken to Scripps Hospital for treatment.
It is unknown if alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in this collision.
