SANTEE–A 26 year-old parolee is back in jail after police caught him in the act of attempted residential burglary.
On Wednesday afternoon, detectives and deputies from the Santee Station caught Davis in the 10000 block of Pasita De Kristy in Lakeside. Pasita De Kristy is on the border of the city of Santee and Lakeside. Davis climbed through an open window in the back and was observed by a resident who was in the house.
Davis fled the scene in a 2010 black Ford Ranger that was registered to him. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Davis and he was taken into custody. Davis was in possession of a loaded firearm and other property previously reported stolen from residential burglaries. Davis is currently on parole. It is unclear how many residential burglaries Davis has committed.
Between November 1 and December 31 approximately 21 residential burglaries were reported in the city of Santee. Detectives from the Santee Sheriff’s Station began investigating these cases and noticed several similarities. Most occurred during the day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and entry was made through a rear window or patio door. At several of the burglaries witnesses reported seeing a black, 1998 to 2004 Ford Ranger Extra Cab. The truck was described as being lifted with newer looking rims and all terrain tires.
The investigation is on-going.
Davis was booked into San Diego Jail pending multiple charges.
