Oceanside, CA–Oceanside police Tuesday have identified and arrested a suspect in the alleged hit-and-run death of a 68-year-old Oceanside resident on June 5, authorities said.
Sean Richter, 34, of Oceanside was taken into custody at the Oceanside Police Department on suspicion of felony gross vehicular manslaughter and the hit and run death of Cecilia Shu.
After weeks of canvassing the neighborhood surrounding the accident site and vehicle collision centers, investigators recovered the suspect’s vehicle.
Shu was fatally struck by a black Honda SUV while walking on a sidewalk near Benet Road and Leepish Drive. The driver fled the scene on Benet Road, according to investigators.
