Oceanside, CA–Oceanside police arrested a 28-year-old Lake Elsinore resident for suspicion of a hit-and-run vehicle collision that seriously injured a pedestrian on September 18 in Oceanside. 

Luis Sandoval was taken into custody on September 30 at the Oceanside Police Department and booked for suspicion of felony hit and run, Oceanside Police Public Information Officer Jennifer Atenza said in a news release.

While crossing North Redondo Drive just East of Martin Street, a 28-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Redondo Drive at around 6:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene. Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and located the man. He was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. 

Additional information about the driver was not released by authorities.
