Vista, CA–A man was arrested Tuesday after pointing a ghost gun at several people in the parking lot of a movie theater in downtown Vista, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies responded to a report of a man driving erratically, and pointing a firearm at several people around 11 p.m. at the movie theater located at 25 Main Street.
Deputies found the man driving in the parking lot behind the movie theater. When they tried to arrest the driver, he exited his vehicle and ran from deputies.
The man was located about a mile away in the 800 block of Eucalyptus Avenue. A search of the man’s car revealed a loaded ghost gun modified to shoot automatic gunfire, a high-capacity magazine, and ammunition, the Sheriff’s office reported.
Jeremy Fuerte, 26 was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility. He is facing multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and illegally possessing a ghost gun.
In 2023, the Vista Gang Enforcement Team confiscated 17 ghost guns.
