Encinitas, CA–A 26-year-old man driving near the intersection of Via Cantebria and Via Ultimo in Encinitas Saturday escaped injury when a vehicle behind him opened fire, authorities said.
The victim was able to evade the suspect’s vehicle and drive to a safe location where he called 911 around 12:30 a.m. The victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire in four different locations, Sheriff’s Department Lt. Christopher Lawrence said.
Deputies arrived at the scene, and attempted to locate the suspect vehicle but were not successful. The vehicle was described as an early 2000s model Honda Accord.
