Vista, CA–San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies seized an estimated 40 pounds of methamphetamine following a traffic stop on Wednesday in Vista, authorities said.
Deputies stopped a BMW sedan and discovered the illicit narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Jaaziel Sandoval was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the initial seizure led detectives to obtain a search warrant for Urban Cuts Barbershop, located at 995 Postal Way in Vista. During the search, investigators recovered an additional 20 pounds of methamphetamine and 2.5 pounds of cocaine.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities reminded the public to report suspected criminal activity to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200.
