Protesters rally on International Women’s Day with political message

By Gina Yarbrough

Oceanside, CA–More than 100 demonstrators gathered along Oceanside and College Boulevards to mark International Women’s Day, celebrating women’s achievements but voicing political concerns.

Holding signs and waving the Ukrainian flag in solidarity with the war-torn nation, protesters took a stand on various issues. While many honored the contributions of women, they also expressed opposition to President Trump’s policies and executive orders.

Some participants carried signs criticizing Elon Musk’s newly established Department of Government Efficiency, raising concerns about federal employee layoffs and the impact on public services.

Organizers emphasized the importance of events like this, stating that public demonstrations ensure their voices are heard on key social and political issues.
