Fallbrook, CA–Sheriff’s deputies responding to an incomplete 911 call in Fallbrook on Sunday night discovered two people suffering from traumatic injuries inside a residence, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported at about 8:05 p.m. in the 300 block of Woodcrest Lane. Deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation entered the home and found two injured individuals, authorities said.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the individuals later died from their injuries, while the second person is expected to survive.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the case, the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Officials said the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
Investigators said the case remains active, but there is currently no known threat to the community.
