Oceanside, CA–A hit-and-run driver struck an e-bike rider, leaving the victim with serious injuries early Saturday morning in Oceanside, according to authorities.
The Oceanside Police Department responded to reports at 12:04 a.m. of a severe hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and an E-Bike along Oceanside Boulevard, east of El Camino Real
Upon arrival, officers discovered the e-bike and its rider lying in the westbound traffic lanes of Oceanside Boulevard, found by a passing motorist. The rider, identified as a 34-year-old Pacific Islander male, sustained critical injuries, including severe head trauma. He was transported to Scripps La Jolla for medical treatment but is not expected to survive. Authorities are withholding his identity until his next of kin can be notified.
