Escondido, CA–The Escondido Police Department, in partnership with the City of Escondido, COMPACT and several community organizations, will host the annual National Night Out celebration on August 4 at Grape Day Park in Escondido.
The free, family-friendly event will feature activities and resources designed to bring residents together and strengthen community connections. Highlights include a bike rodeo, safety demonstrations, community resource booths, carnival games, live entertainment with a DJ, contests, prize drawings and free hot dogs while supplies last. Participants planning to take part in the bike rodeo are encouraged to bring a bicycle or scooter and wear a helmet.
Representatives from the Escondido Fire Department, Code Compliance Department and Environmental Programs will join police personnel to provide public safety information, answer questions and connect residents with city services.
Organizers say the 5 to 8 p.m. gathering will give residents of all ages a chance to connect with first responders, learn about local safety programs, and strengthen relationships within the community.
National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that promotes partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve while encouraging neighborhood engagement and crime prevention efforts.
