Escondido, CA–Escondido Police Department’s Traffic Division joined other traffic officers across San Diego County on Thursday for a day of enforcement and motorist education on the city’s roadways.
According to the Escondido Police Department, motorcycle officers from six county agencies issued 278 citations for violations including speeding, violation of signs and signals, cell phone use, unlicensed driving, and equipment issues that rendered vehicles unsafe. Many of those citations were issued in locations and intersections that have high instances of crashes, and also where residents and businesses have complained about dangerous driving.
The collaborative effort amongst agencies has been occurring for several years in cities across the county. Additional collaborative traffic enforcement details are scheduled in other cities throughout the year.
