Valley Center, CA– A young girl was airlifted to Rady Children’s Hospital on Saturday night after suffering a seizure while trick-or-treating in Valley Center, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the medical emergency around 9:05 p.m., after the child’s parents reported she had suddenly experienced her first seizure and voiced concern that she might have been exposed to an unknown substance, the Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.
Paramedics and deputies provided aid at the scene, but officials found no evidence suggesting drugs were involved. Medical personnel later determined the incident was likely the result of an undiagnosed medical condition.
The Valley Center Sheriff’s Office followed up with hospital staff, who confirmed the child’s condition was not related to narcotics. She has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, according to the department.
Sheriff’s officials thanked the community for remaining alert and sharing information about possible public safety risks.
