LA MESA–The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office released the identities of the elderly couple found shot in their home this week in the unincorporated area of La Mesa.
They were identified as 72-year-old Judith Ann Caruthers and 74-year-old Herman Caruthers.
The preliminary cause of death for Judith Caruthers is a penetrating gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is homicide.
The preliminary cause of death for Herman Caruthers is a penetrating gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is suicide.
The investigation is on-going.
