Oceanside, CA–A shopping center was briefly evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a reported bomb threat near a Walmart store in Oceanside, authorities said.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:08 p.m. after an anonymous caller contacted the department’s dispatch center reporting an alleged bomb threat in the 2100 block of Vista Way.
When officers arrived, they began precautionary evacuations of several nearby businesses while authorities assessed the situation.
As a safety measure, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Bomb and Arson Unit responded to the scene along with explosive-detection K-9 teams to assist with the investigation.
After conducting a search and evaluating the threat, authorities determined there was no credible danger to the public.
