SPRING VALLEY–A man was arrested in connection with the shooting of a woman during a verbal argument at a residence in Spring Valley on Sunday, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reports.

The suspect, 61-year-old Danny Goodman was on scene and detained by deputies. He was transported to Grossmont Hospital for complaints of shortness of breath.

Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station responded to a radio call, shortly before 4 p.m., of a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of Presioca Street. 

Deputies arrived on scene and located the female shooting victim with a gunshot wound to the left leg. 

The shooting occurred after a verbal argument between the victim and Goodman. He is a known family member of the victim. She was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
