Oceanside, CA–A CH-53E Super Stallion military helicopter carrying four crew members made an emergency landing at Camp Pendleton on Friday after an engine fire was reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:11 p.m., when the crew detected an engine fire during the flight. The helicopter safely landed in a designated landing zone near northbound Interstate 5.
No injuries were reported among the crew members.
Officials are investigating the cause of the engine fire.
