SAN DIEGO–San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the Santee Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating an unknown suspect who stole a purse from an unlocked vehicle and used stolen credits cards to make purchases at various stores in Santee.
On January 21, an unknown man entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked at the 24 Hour Fitness in Santee. He stole a purse from the vehicle that contained a wallet with credit cards, an iPhone 6, cash and other miscellaneous items. He later used the stolen credit cards at Game Stop, Lowe’s and Best Buy in Santee. The total charged on the credit cards was about $7,000.
The man is described as a 35 to 45-year-old white male with a medium build, standing about 5’8” tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, dirty white t-shirt, tan pants and a dark blue plaid jacket.
Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call the Santee Sheriff’s Station at (619) 956-4000 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
