OCEANSIDE–A 28 year-old man was stabbed in the chest by his brother during a family argument at their Oceanside home.
Oceanside police offices arrested Michael Garcia, 32, of Oceanside and charged him with attempted murder.
On Wednesday morning, police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1500 block of Alvarado Street. A roommate of the victim called police and said the victim had been stabbed in the chest by his brother. The caller also stated he was detaining the victim’s brother until police responded. The victim was still conscious when police arrived but had serious injuries. He was treated by paramedics and airlifted to Palomar Medical Center.
Investigators determined the victim and suspect were involved in an argument inside their apartment and the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife. A motive for the attack is still unclear.
The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
