Lakeside, CA–Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a pond early Monday morning in Lakeside.
Deputies received a radio call at about 3:30 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a body in a pond near Willow Drive and Moreno Drive. They located an approximately 50-year-old man in the water, deceased. The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Dive Team were called to retrieve the body from the pond.
Homicide detectives believe the death is suspicious in nature however, there is no indication of foul play. The incident is under investigation.
The Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday.
