SANTEE–Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who attempted to lure a juvenile into his vehicle on March 28 in Santee.

The incident was reported about 6 p.m. in the 8000 block of Poplin Drive.  A 9-year-old girl told detectives she was riding her bicycle when a man pulled up beside her and asked her if she would like a ride to a “game.”  The girl became scared and rode away in her bike all the way home. She was not hurt.

The man is described as a white between 60 and 70-years-old with white hair. He was last seen wearing a red hat and chrome sunglasses. He was seen driving a silver 1984-1990 Chevrolet Corvette with a T-Top with a non-California license plate with a possible handicap sticker on it.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
