Vista, CA–A driver was arrested for possession of a ghost gun following a vehicle stop by Sheriff’s deputies in Vista on Monday, authorities said.
The driver was identified as 33-year-old Ricardo Alvarez. He was booked into Vista Detention Facility for being a felon in possession of a firearm and other weapons-related charges, Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Austin Smith said in a release.
A deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. for an expired registration near the 1000 block of South Santa Fe Avenue.
While searching the car, the deputy discovered a loaded ghost gun in a hidden compartment. A bag containing ammunition, a holster, a taser, and drug paraphernalia was also located inside the vehicle.
