El Cajon, CA–Two suspects were arrested this week in connection with the fatal shootings of two teens at an October 28 house party in El Cajon, authorities said.

The El Cajon Police Department responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a loud house party and multiple gunshots just before midnight in the 700 block of Mahogany Drive.

When officers arrived on the scene, they saw multiple people fleeing from the area. Two male victims, a 16-year-old and 18-year-old, were found critically wounded. Despite immediate medical attention by first responders, both victims died of their injuries after being transported to local trauma hospitals.

Homicide detectives learned at least two suspects were involved in the double homicide and had fled in a vehicle before police arrival.

During the subsequent investigation, detectives utilized the Flock Safety automated license plate reader system to identify the getaway vehicle used in the crime.

El Cajon police were able to identify two suspects, 21-year-old Bruce Luu and 24-year-old Dan Nalab, both of San Diego. Nalab was taken into custody on November 18 by the Chula Vista police for an unrelated firearm charge.

On November 20, with the assistance of the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, and the East County Regional Gang Task Force, El Cajon police and detectives apprehended Luu in San Diego. Search warrants were later served at their residences.

Bruce and Nalab are being held without bail in the San Diego County Central Jail on first-degree murder charges.

At the request of the families, the El Cajon Police Department is not releasing the names of the victims.

The investigation is ongoing.
