Fallbrook, CA–A man was arrested after a large cache of illegal fireworks was discovered in his garage Saturday in Fallbrook, authorities said.
The fireworks were found just before 7 p.m. in the 200 block of East View Street, San Diego Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Deputies with the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation were following up on reports of neighbors hearing fireworks being set off in the area recently. They were distributing flyers to inform the community about the dangers of illegal fireworks when they saw an open garage filled with boxes of fireworks.
Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson detectives served a search warrant on the property and discovered the fireworks. The Federal Bureau of Investigation bomb technicians seized the piled fireworks in the garage and shed.
