VISTA–Sheriff’s department homicide detectives arrested several juveniles accused of killing an Oceanside man Saturday in Vista.

The suspects were identified as juveniles of 15 or 16-years of age. They were booked into the Kearny Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility Sunday. 

The victim’s family has been notified of his death. He has been identified as 45 year-old Joshua A. Virginia, of Oceanside. The Medical Examiner’s Office reports the cause of death was multiple stab wounds. 

On February 29, at 10 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call of a reported fight at the intersection of W. Vista Way and Valencia Drive, in Vista. Deputies arrived and found an adult male laying on the sidewalk with severe injuries. Paramedics arrived to render aid and transported the male to a local hospital by ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m.  Witnesses told deputies that three adult male Hispanics and one adult female Hispanic had attacked the victim at the intersection. The victim had fallen to the ground in the street but managed to crawl onto the sidewalk before collapsing.
