JAMUL–An elderly man came home to his Jamul residence and was physically attacked by a burglar, authorities said Saturday.
About 12:30 p.m., a 78-year-old man entered his home on Lyons Valley Road to find a male burglarizing the residence. The burglar wrestled the victim to the ground and escaped the residence after taking cash and jewelry.
The burglar is described as a light skinned black male, approximately 30-years-old, five feet, eight inches tall, 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan, long sleeve shirt and tan shorts.
Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Detectives from the Rancho San Diego Station are continuing with the investigation.
