Vista, CA–A driver was killed early Friday morning after he struck a traffic control light pole at an intersection in Vista, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies responded to a solo vehicle collision just after 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Melrose Drive and County Complex.
When deputies and fire department personnel arrived at the scene, they rendered medical aid to the driver, who appeared to be in medical distress. He was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Eric Cottrell stated in the department’s news release.
The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.
