San Diego, CA–The County has rolled out a new digital system designed to make filing property tax assessment appeals quicker, more secure and far more convenient for residents.

The online portal allows property owners to submit, review and track their appeals at any time and from any device, replacing the slower, paper‑based process long used by the Office of the Clerk of the Board.

An assessment appeal gives property owners the opportunity to request a review of the taxable value assigned to their property by the County Assessor. The regular filing window runs from July 2 through Nov. 30, during which the Clerk of the Board accepts applications.

To file an appeal, owners must provide their parcel or tax bill number, the property address and their own estimate of the property’s market value.

County officials say the new platform streamlines the appeals process, reduces delays and improves access for residents who prefer digital services. Through the portal, property owners can submit forms from smartphones, tablets or computers, monitor the status of their appeal and sign up for updates without needing to call or email the office. The system also includes enhanced security features to protect personal information.

The upgrade is part of a broader effort to modernize public services and expand digital access. County leaders say the goal is to make essential government processes easier, faster and more user‑friendly for all residents.
