San Diego, CA–One person was killed in a deadly shooting incident in East Village in San Diego on Sunday afternoon, the San Diego Police Department said.
The shooting incident was reported around 3 p.m. at the intersection of 16th and G Streets in downtown San Diego, authorities said.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the shooting and is currently at large. A description of the suspect has not been released by police.
Due to the investigation, the area around 16th and G Streets is closed off for several hours.
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
