WARNER SPRINGS—A man suspected of shooting his father on Sunday at the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation is in police custody.

On Monday, Rural deputies from the Ranchita/Warner Springs Sub-Station received information from the Los Coyotes Tribal Police that attempted murder suspect Phillip Campbell, was at a residence on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. The deputies responded to a residence in the 32000 block of Camino Moro and met with the Tribal Police. Officers already detained Campbell and they turned him over to the deputies’ custody. According to the Tribal Police, Campbell was taken into custody without incident and no weapons were located. Campbell will be transported to the Vista Detention Facility to be booked for attempted murder

The suspect’s father is being treated at a hospital. The rifle believed to have been used in the crime has been recovered.
