CARLSBAD–A man found stabbed at a Costco parking lot in Carlsbad is in serious condition, Carlsbad Police Department reports.
The stabbing occurred around 2:47 p.m. outside Costco, located at 951 Palomar Airport Road. Officers found the victim in serious condition with multiple stab wounds.
The suspect, identified as 62-year-old Charles Higgins, fled the scene prior to police arrival. Carlsbad police officers located Higgins in Temecula where he was taken into custody, with the assistance of Murrieta Police Department, the Border Patrol and the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. The victim and suspect are known to each other and the stabbing was not a random act.
The Carlsbad Police Department is continuing the investigation.
