San Marcos, CA–A small TB-21 Trinidad aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at an intersection near South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive Saturday in San Marcos, fire officials said.

There were no reported injuries to passengers in the aircraft, and on the ground, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

The San Marcos Fire Department and deputies received 911 calls at around 6:15 p.m. of the aircraft crash on the roadways. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the damaged plane sitting on the ground.

Deputies shut down roadways near the crash site for several hours. Traffic was detoured to another intersection while fire department personnel secured the area.

Fire crews will remain on the scene awaiting investigation clearance by NTSB.
