San Diego, CA–San Diego Oasis, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to change the way people experience aging, received a $500,000 gift from the Bridge Club of North County.

The club’s donation will help fund San Diego Oasis’ new Rancho Bernardo center, The Game Room, which is the future home of Bridge Club of North County, as well as other social games like Mah Jongg. The center is scheduled to open later this summer.

Founded in 1970, the Bridge Club of North County is a local nonprofit that operates as a social club for playing bridge, and promotes, grows, and sustains the game of bridge. In addition to social games, the club also hosts sanctioned games for all ages.

“This first-time partnership between San Diego Oasis and Bridge Club of North County will provide more social opportunities for local older adults to get out, be active and engage with their community. Our organization has always been community-minded to create meaningful connections and partnerships with other senior-related nonprofits. We look forward to collaborating with Bridge Club of North County moving forward and are excited to see ‘The Game Room’ bring together older adults from around San Diego County,” says Simona Valanciute, President and CEO, of San Diego Oasis.

San Diego Oasis is a free educational program that promotes healthy aging and lifestyle for adults 50 and older, the organization stated on its website

Their approach includes key areas of lifelong learning, health and wellness, and community involvement through intergenerational programs.
