SAN DIEGO–The City of San Diego is providing a free, safe alternative to help residents recycle their old tax files.

The City will be accepting up to one full bankers box of files or sensitive documents at the Miramar Recycling Center until April 24.

  • Only one bankers box of files per resident is accepted per visit. A banker’s box is approximately 10 inches high, 15 inches wide and 25 inches deep.
  • Files will be accepted at the Miramar Recycling Center at 5165 Convoy Street in San Diego between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Secured collection bins are located outside the recycling center entrance.
  • All documents dropped off will be securely stored and shredded before being recycled.
  • Businesses can search online for recycling services under “Business Records Destruction locations.”
