SAN DIEGO–Maritime Museum of San Diego is temporarily closed for three weeks due to California Stay at Home Order.

New restrictions were developed to help fight the spread of COVID-19 and triggered when regional medical care ICU capacities fall below 15%.

The museum staff has continued to closely monitor the guidelines from the state, local and health authorities to abide by public health safety and CDC recommendations to ensure visitors enjoy a clean and safe experience.

“We modified the visitor experience when we reopened August 22 to feature only outdoor elements offered by the Museum, combining top deck ship tours with a narrated Historic Bay Cruise,” according to Raymond Ashley, Ph.D., K.C.I., President and CEO of the Maritime Museum of San Diego. “However, with this trigger, we must support the health of our community, and healthcare workers. We will reopen when it is safe to do so and in compliance with guidelines.”

Located at Star of India Wharf, the Maritime Museum of San Diego is a collection of historic vessels moored together dockside along the north Embarcadero between Grape and Ash Streets located at 1492 North Harbor Drive in San Diego.
