San Diego, CA–Mastro’s Ocean Club, the renowned fine-dining destination known for its prime steaks and luxury seafood offerings, officially opened its doors in San Diego on July 11, marking the brand’s 10th California location and its first in the city.
Located at 901 Bayfront Court, Suite 105, the upscale restaurant offers its signature blend of elegant ambiance, premium cuisine, and exceptional service on the waterfront, featuring sweeping views of the Pacific from its two expansive outdoor patios.
“We are thrilled to open our doors and officially plant roots in this vibrant coastal city,” said Mark Levy, president of Mastro’s Restaurants. “San Diego’s dynamic culinary scene makes it a natural fit for our brand, and we are excited to bring our signature dining experience to this community.”
With seating for up to 300 guests, the venue includes five private dining rooms, a lively piano lounge with live nightly entertainment, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame picturesque sunsets. The design takes inspiration from San Diego’s coastal charm, incorporating warm earth tones, nautical touches, custom beach-themed artwork, and plush leather furnishings in muted hues.
A highlight of the space is the outdoor terrace, designed for year-round al fresco dining with plush lounge seating and unobstructed ocean views that blend seamlessly with the indoor area.
Mastro’s Ocean Club has earned national acclaim among celebrities and critics for its world-class menu, which features USDA Prime steaks in 13 different cuts, fresh seafood, and signature dishes such as lobster mashed potatoes, a towering seafood platter, and the renowned warm butter cake. The eatery also introduces new offerings, including Grilled Jumbo Black Tiger Prawns.
Sushi lovers can enjoy selections curated by renowned chef Angel Carbajal of Niksan in Cabo San Lucas, while wine connoisseurs will find a robust, globally sourced list that includes Napa Valley legends such as Screaming Eagle and Harlan Estate, along with top Bordeaux and rare vintages from around the world. More than 50 wines are available by the glass, including Coravin-poured rarities, sparkling options, and dessert wines.
The bar boasts a collection of around 500 spirits, from classic cocktails to rare scotches, cognacs, premium tequilas, and non-alcoholic options. Signature drinks include Mastro’s smoking Lemon Drop and Cosmo martinis.
Executive Chef Jennifer Jones, a San Diego local, will lead the kitchen, bringing her culinary expertise and creativity to the helm of the new location.
