SAN DIEGO–Higgs Fletcher and Mack, a San Diego-based, full-service law firm for 75 years, announced Victoria Fuller is a recipient of Casa Cornelia’s Inn of Court Pro Bono Publico Award.

In a pool of more than 200 volunteer attorneys providing pro bono legal services to the organization’s clients, Fuller was selected along with 10 other volunteer attorneys to receive this award.

“We’re extremely proud of Victoria and this accomplishment. As part of our values and company culture, we not only support, but encourage our team members to get involved in causes that are important to them and give back in the community,” said John Morrell, Managing Partner at Higgs Fletcher and Mack. “We commend her for providing access to justice for victims of human and civil rights violations.”

Fuller handles appeals and writs in a wide range of practice areas, including business disputes, employment litigation, personal injury cases and family law matters.  In addition to providing pro bono legal services to Casa Cornelia Law Center representing applicants for political asylum in appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Ninth Circuit, she also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Blacks Beach Foundation, a group of surfers dedicated to protecting the environment at Blacks Beach.

Fuller was nominated by the organization’s program directors and her candidacy was finalized and voted upon by its Inn of Court Committee of Benchers, using a combination of hours contributed, the firm’s size, the number and complexity of cases and other distinguishing factors, such as the quality of work.

Casa Cornelia’s Executive Director Carmen M. Chavez, Esq. explained, “We’re very grateful for Victoria’s present and past zealous pro bono representation of the most vulnerable. We can’t do it without volunteers like Victoria and others who are dedicated to access to justice.”
