San Diego, CA–The Escondido Community Foundation, a regional affiliate of San Diego Foundation, Monday announced a call for Letters of Intent for its 18th annual grant cycle.
The foundation is inviting nonprofit organizations serving Escondido to submit applications for projects that will upgrade community spaces.
“We want to encourage people to gather and enjoy the outdoors, whether in urban places, open spaces or recreational facilities,” said Rosemary Burson, grants chair of Escondido Community Foundation Grants Chair. “Projects such as benches, shade trees and structures, splash pads, water stations, and lighting are just a few of the items we have heard are in need, especially during the hottest times of the year.”
Eligible nonprofit organizations serving Escondido may submit proposals of $15,000 to $40,000.
Escondido Community Foundation is hosting a Grant Seekers Forum at 4 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the Raymond Center for Community Philanthropy, located in the Pacific Western Bank building at 900 Canterbury, Ste. 300 in Escondido.
During the forum, the foundation staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the grant process and help organizations that are considering whether to submit a Letter of Intent.
The Letters of Intent is the first step in a two-step process, which will facilitate the allocation of funding for Escondido-centered projects. The letter submissions must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2024. The guidelines including directions on how to register and apply can be accessed at www.escondidocommunityfoundation.org.
Organizations that are moved forward through the Letters of Intent process to the next step will be invited to submit a full application proposal by Feb. 26, 2024, and a completed application by Mar. 18, 2024. Nonprofits interested in attending the forum must RSVP to Eve Childs at echilds@sdfoundation.org by November 29.
