San Diego, CA–The San Diego Foundation announced that it will host its first Fundraising Conference to support professional development for community-based nonprofit organizations.

The conference’s theme is “Raising the Tide,” and it is designed to be an accessible opportunity for local fundraising professionals to learn from national philanthropy experts, San Diego Foundation organizers said.

The one-day conference will be held on September 8 at Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel.

The event will feature several speakers, including Mark Stuart, president and CEO of San Diego Foundation, Harvey McKinnon, one of North America’s leading fundraising experts; and Gail Perry, one of the foremost experts in the field of philanthropy and nonprofits, among others to be announced. Copies of books by two speakers will be included as part of conference registration.

“San Diego Foundation inspires enduring philanthropy and enables community solutions to improve the quality of life in our region,” said Stuart. “By bringing North American fundraising experts to San Diego, we hope to ‘raise the tide’ of fundraising and revenue capacity of our nonprofit community and the impact of their important work in our region.”
